Wie John Nack berichtet, steht ein Update von Photoshop CS2 für Windows in allen Sprachen und Mac OS X bisher nur für Englisch bereit. Die folgenden Probleme sollen bereinigt sein: After editing an image in Photoshop CS2 via Acrobat Touchup, the image no longer gets re-positioned.Photoshop no longer hangs for several seconds when using painting tools with quick strokes.A program error that could appear when mousing over high res doc with Brush Tool has been fixed.Documents containing a large number of text layers now open more quickly.An error that could cause a crash on Mac when launching, or when opening or saving a file, has been addressed. Problems related to palettes on Windows (slow redraw, palettes go white, possible crash) have been addressed.TIFF files from certain scanners can now be opened correctly. XMP metadata from AI & PDF files is now retained in Photoshop. Slow performance when toggling layer visibility has been fixed.Info palette numbers now display and update when moving a curve point in Curves via the cursor keys.Problems opening certain TIFF and PSB files greater than 2GB in size have been resolved.The Merge to HDR command now functions properly when using high-ASCII characters in user login. INKSCAPE ist ein Zeichenprogramm a la Freehand und Illustrator, das als Open Source vertrieben wird. Some supported SVG features include basic shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, and grouping. In addition, Inkscape supports Creative Commons meta-data, node-editing, layers, complex path operations, text-on-path, and SVG XML editing. It also imports several formats like EPS, Postscript, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats. Inkscape's main motivation is to provide the Open Source community with a fully W3C compliant XML, SVG, and CSS2 drawing tool. Additional planned work includes conversion of the codebase from C/Gtk to C++/Gtkmm, emphasizing a lightweight core with powerful features added through an extension mechanism, and the establishment of a friendly, open, community-oriented development process. RawShooter essentials ist ein bis dato kostenloses Werkzeug zu Bearbeitung von RAW-Bildern. Die Anwendung arbeitet unabhängig von anderen Bildbearbeitungsprogrammen und bietet neben den zu erwartenden Optimierungsfeatures die folgenden Highlights: Image Priority: Assignment of priorities to individual or group of images. Snapshot: Several variations of the same RAW file, all with different levels of correction applied. Slideshow: Full screen slideshow of RAW images. During the editing process, individual files can be assigned priorities via the slideshow, or consigned to the recycle bin. RawShooter essentials läuft bisher nur unter Windows und steht kostenlos zum Download bereit. Allerdings muss zum Start eine Art Registrierung mit Namen und E-Mail-Adresse vollzogen werden werden. Ein weiteres Schmankerl des Herstellers Pixmantec ist die PHOTOGRAPHERS TOOLBOX, ein kostenloses PDF-Magazin, in dem jeden Monat ein professioneller Fotograf zu seinen Erfahrungen mit dem RAW-Shooting Stellung nimmt. In diesem Monat ist das der bekannte Naturfotograf Andy Rouse, der den Lesern der Practical Photography sicher bekannt ist.
Adobe hat ein Update des Kamera Raw-Plugins für Photoshop CS2 und Photoshop Elements 3.0 veröffentlicht. Unterstützt werden nun auch die folgenden Kameras: Canon EOS Rebel XT (EOS 350D/EOS Kiss Digital N), Nikon D2X, Olympus EVOLT E-300, Olympus C-7070 Wide Zoom. Das Update ist ausdrücklich nicht für Photoshop CS geeignet und steht für Mac OS X und Windows zum Download zur Verfügung. Heißt das nun eigentlich, dass es keine Updates des RAW-Plugins für ältere Photoshop Versionen geben wird?
